SEASONAL(12EP) - RECOMENDATION SERIES #1

                     COMEDY

OOSU! How's it been going people? This is my first series post.
Today I am gonna suggest some comedy animes that will spring you back to life even when everything seems lost and hopeless.

1)Daily Lives Of High School Boys

This anime is one of the legends in the genre of comedy. It's widely accepted to be the funniest anime after OPM. The reason for it's success is that it's based in the horribly realistic world and it delivers some non intentional and cringy jokes. In the very first episode one of the characters ask if anyone would even watch an anime without mecha or super high doses of romance. The answer , well you will know it as soon as you finish the 1st episode.

P.S=> don't miss the ending song ^_^

2)The Devil is a Part-Timer!

Call it a reverse isekai if you want to , but this anime is one of the only animes that can rival KONOSUBA in terms of comedy. The demon lord Satan retreats to modern day Tokyo after being defeated(almost ) by one of the heroes. Whether its the part time jobs or the fights with Lucifer everything about this anime is either tense in a funny way or or... just plain funny.

It would have been a pretty mediocre plot if the story was only about this, but guess what the hero Emilia also reaches modern day Tokyo and instead of fighting the demon lord becomes his ally(mikata).

3)Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

As one of my kouhais rightly said this anime is one which tries to turn into a romance driven plebian anime but everytime that happens it reverts back to serious serious comedy. Its set in a school which has adopted the beasts summoning software to
ensure that the students do their best in studies ( well that was supposed to be the actual plot). But who cares abt that, the actual funny part is that of akihisa being a 'baka' and dealing with the tsunderes around him( well this is what I hear everyone say).

If you ask me personally nothing beats (musturinni and his cam shots ) Hideyoshi and his cross dressing .

MAKOTO THE ENCHANTER

Shinkai has given us some of the most amazing movies ever which more often than not seem to revolve around the concept of unrequited love .
Here are my top picks from this sorcerer's collection:-

1)5 centimetres per second(2007)

Like most of shinkai's works this is also a genius piece of art .The  film consists of three segments "cherry blossom" , "cosmonaut" and "5 centimetres per second" . This film revolves around a boy and his childhood friend who is a girl . They cover three stages of their life starting from elementary school to high school and finally ending in their mid twenties ( a time when the magical realm slowly fades out into the reality). This animov is a bit difficult to relate to if you are under 14 or let's say even under 20 cause as the critics say you need to go through life and experiences before watching this movie . You can't relate to a stage that you have never gone through . This may look like three just about average isolated stories but then they all scream out one truth" Life's not what you always want it to be" .

2) Garden of words(2013)

This is in my opinion the third best animov ever after 'hotaburi no mori e'  and 'Your Name' . It revolves around a mysterious woman and a student who studies in the school that she teaches in. This movie is more about Agape or unconditional love rather than unrequited love.  The boy is a person who doesn"t stand out much and his sole reason for visiting he garden was to design shoes whereas thw woman visited the Garden to escape from problems in her professional life. The teacher as well as the boy have had their set of hardships before they met in a garden by the lake , they stared to talk to each before they knew it . Through these  talks they eased their hearts and gave vent to their views and wings of confidence to their dreams. They free each other from self imposed barriers and come together as a pair that's strikingly unusual but  highly refreshing.

3) Your name (2016)

'Kimi no nawa' or 'Your name' is the highest grossing animov ever.
It has the perfect combination of a genius plot, perfect storytelling and an amazing soundtrack. The movie might seem like normal animov up to the 39 th minute but then right after that it transforms into the epic that it is . I don't know how to describe the movie without giving off any spoilers as every second of it is precious. The story basically revolves around a boy and a girl who are strangers and undergo body swapping . Before halftime the animov seems quite normal but after that when the red string of fate brings out the true reason of their encounter and that's where the Kimi no nawa actually begins.

Tenki no Ko , Shinkai's latest movie is releasing this summer

WINTER 2019 REVIEW

Winter 2019 has been a treat for otakus all over ,with new animes as well as greats sharing an equal footing.

1) Mob Psycho 100 II

GENRE:- Supernatural , Action
Cryin my mind, cryin my psyche, cryin my heart in such common places , is that your deal, is that your mind hyaku ni wa hajimaru .
The opening keeps ringing in my mind and the scenes play in my heart literally every time  I try to focus something or heck anything.
The second season of the anime focuses on Shigeo breaking out of the dream world and coming to face himself , his powers and the reality of his life . It does have some legit good fight scenes but it focuses of development of Mob as a middle schooler than a esper. One could say that he starts accepting his powers without changing his personality.
As his spirit Dimple rightly says people do not  get defeated by Mob they  defeat their own evil selves upon listening to Mob.
Though the events before the final fight(ep 11 and 12) were kind of rushed but the 13 th episode more than makes up for it.

2) Kakegurui XX(2nd season)

GENRE- gambling, mind games and random crazy shit

OK now this is one crazy anime with a crazy MC and with an  even crazier plot. This anime is clearly beyond logic as it is clearly stated in the 10 th episode of the anime in fact it relies on actions that humans undertake due to pure unspoilt desire .In fact but the probabilities of match outcomes are not what they actually seem.

The second season is focused on the presidential elections in the campus but guess what the votes are not supposed to be put into the ballot box but they literally have to obtained by waging the voting coins in a gamble.

To brighten up the party Kirari( the current school council president) has invited the 100 branches of her gambling crazy extended family luring them in with a offer of making them the clan's leader if they manage to win the elections.
In spite of having a dozen new characters literally nobody is a match for Jabami Yumeko's craziness and quick wit . Oh and the uncensored violence?  Well that's the one thing that the director won't part with.

3)Kaguya sama: love is war

GENRE- Romance,Comedy

Though being newcomer this anime is probably the only one in the list that doesn't need an intro.

Being the most highly memed anime of the season this anime survives and thrives only because of Chika Fujiwara.
While the two Mcs are qute good and the anime has a good storyline it wouldn't have become this popular if not for chika's performance in the 3rd episode's ending song and her hilarious third wheeling in the other episodes

Coming back to the actual plot the anime is about Miyuki and Kaguya who are student council president and vice president respectively. Kaguya is an extremely talented girl and has an all rounder personality, whereas Miyuki Shirogane is topper of the class . They both are madly into each other but neither of them confess because they know that if they do so then they would have to submit to the other's demand and command and to those two insanely proud creature that would mean ultimate defeat

The only annoying part about this anime is the presence of a 2005 type narrator who is totally out of place and not needed except for maybe in the intro.

ANIME TO WATCH WHEN YOU ARE UNDER A LOT OF PRESSURE

Well all of us have times  when everything thing around us disappoints us , every other thing angers us. Unless you are an ISEKAI protagonist , this probably happens a day before you have you exams or a day before the presentation that your life depends on. so here I will suggest some anime that you can watch to ease up your nerves a little .

1)KONOSUBA ( GOD'S BLESSING ON THIS WONDERFUL WORLD)

This anime probably one of the funniest ever and is full blown parody of the new isekai genre.
After dying a death that's considered the funniest in the history of anime, he is taken to a goddess named aqua who offers to reincarnate him as a person in a different world if he vows to defeat the  demon lord( this is a take on the increasingly similar plot of isekai anime). The goddess offers him the choice to take any one thing that he wants to the other world, you would never guess what he took.... After forming one of the most dysfunctional squads ever he sets out on his epicly hilarious journey that continues through two seasons.

2) BARAKAMON

Barakamon in  my view is an anime that makes everything around you seem so Utopian that you start to have faith in everything around you. The anime is about a calligrapher called Seishuu Handa who punches a calligraphy critic in the face just because he considered Handa's  work too plain for someone so young. His father sends him to an remote island with minimal facilities. Being born and bred in the city and being an introvert are both barriers to living happily in such a place. Handa learns that life isn't always about perfection or success rather it's about finding something about yourself that you can truly call your own .

Also the op is friggin amashing

3) Doukyonin wa hiza tokidoki atama no ue

(my roommate is a cat)

This anime just finished recently and if you are an animal lover you'll definitely love it. Its about a introverted( ya ya introverts are totally my thing) author named Subaru Mikazuki whose parents left for the heavenly abode after they died in a bus accident . One day while visiting their grave he finds a cat lingering around who jumps on the offerings he kept for his parents , struck by sudden inspiration for a novel he takes the cat home. This cat becomes his roommate in the big house which belonged to his parents ,where he used to live without any other life form , in complete solitude . This cat helps Subaru to meet more people and open up to them .One of the most intresting points about this anime is that it tells the story from the cat's as well as Subaru's point of view.

AND OMG ITS SO KAWAIIIIIIIIIII
HARU-CHAN ( THE CAT) won the the best female character award for the 2019 winter season defeatin the legendary Kaguya Sama.

ANIME FOR BEGINNERS

I guess there a lot sites around that will tell you to start with the greats like one piece(800+ episodes)
, Naruto(216 + ( 500- shippuden) ) but no not me . Here I will suggest some short animes , which have a great fan following among Indians and beyond.

1) Nanatsu no taizai (The seven deadly sins)

GENRE - ACTION, SUPERNATURAL , MEDIEVAL , ECCHI
EPISODES- SEASON 1-24
                      SEASON 2-24

This anime widely regarded as a part of the current BIG THREE, has two seasons of 24 episodes each.
It's basically about a princess named Elizabeth going in search for the seven deadly sins who were banished from the kingdom along with meliodas (the sin of the dragon)  in the first season.
The fight scenes are as good as any other shonen anime as you would have watched and Meliodas'S Quotes are ones to live by. Though the first season is legendary it's only in the second season the most OP character in the history of anime appears.

2) Boku dake ga inai machi (Erased)

GENRE- MYSTERY, SEINEN, SCI-FI
EPISODES-12
This anime is one of the few rare animes that beginners or non-anime fans like more than hardened otakus ( just kidding , u can't love any anime more than a otaku does, well if u do then you are already an otaku ^-^) .
This anime follows  29 year old Satou  who goes back into the past to his elementary school days to save his classmate in order to save those he cares for in the present. Regarded by many as the perfect mix of time travel and murder fiction this anime is surely one to watch.

3)Yaksoku no Neverland( The promised Neverland)

GENRE- SHOUNEN, MYSTERY, PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER
EPISODES- 12
The orphans at grace field house live happily in their orphanage and their world revolves around their Mama.
However every time one the children get adapted they never answer their friend's letters even though they had stayed with them right from their birth.
Emma and Norman always wondered about the need for the walls that surrounded their orphanage.
The reason they discover when they dash towards the gates to return a toy that their friend who had found a foster home had forgotten. The psychological thriller that unfolds after that can challenge greats like Death Note or Psycho Pass.

4)Shigatsu wa kimi no uso ( Your lie in April)
GENRE- MUSIC , ROMANCE ,SLICE OF LIFE
EPISODES-24

Kousei Arima was once regarded as one of the most prodigious piano players in Japan. However after his mother passed away he wasn't able to play the piano. In the spring of his  last year at the middle school, he meets a beautiful violinist Kaori who changes his life and makes him realize that the most important part of music is to reach people's hearts . This musical journey of the pair produces a masterpiece that might even level with Bohemian Rhapsody.

5) Angel Beats

GENRE- AFTERLIFE, SUPERNATURAL, ACTION ,?,?,?,?,?,?
EPISODES-13
Otonashi wakes up only to learn that he is dead. He came to the afterlife retaining his form form but devoid of his memories. He joins the shinda sekai sensen(the afterlife battlefront) not because he was attracted to them but because he wanted to solve the mysteries
of the afterlife. An anime that is not bound by any genre it gives off a paradoxical plot telling us that the fairness of life is in it's unfairness.

PS - I'M totally gonna pretend that I wrote my last post yesterday
